Governor Bush Wins Florida
According to the official ballot count Governor Bush has just won the state of Florida, probably by a slim margin of votes, maybe even fewer than one thousand.
But the race isn't over.
The Gore campaign or the Democratic Party might still contest the Florida decision in the courts. Most irregularities could be brought up in Florida courts, and if civil rights violations are alleged, they could be raised in federal court -- and perhaps go all the way to the Supreme Court. The Democrats could drag out the decision and possibly even take Florida away from Bush.
